Yellow Slab Built Mushroom Mug

This mug is made using the slab build method. Using a flat rolled out piece of clay I cut the desired shape of the mug wall, then I curve it until the two ends meet and join them together, I attach an extruded handle and hand paint each motif twice this is sod the colour doesn’t burn off during the high heat of the firings.

Slab building renders a lovely rustic and chunky effect with hand made wobbly vibes, if you like wheel spun ceramics this piece is not for you!

Made using Black Wattle white Clay, coloured underglaze and clear glaze on top.
