About Alex
Alex Conan is a freelance creative, born and bred in Sydney Australia, where she lives with her husband and young daughter. As a self-taught multi-disciplinary creative Alex has been drawn to numerous Medias over the years but has a great flamboyance for art & illustration. After debuting at the Bayside Art Festival in 2019 Alex scored the “People’s Choice Award” among 20 other exhibitionists, this win spurred Alex to embrace her passion and embark on a rewarding career. Although Alex’s professional career only ripened in her 30’s, Alex uses her previous workplace role as a cafe owner to her advantage:
“Celery juice, creativity and the art of conversation is my happy place”.
Alex works with a very bold and bright colour palette that is both attention-grabbing and sometimes…borderline kitsch. With subject matters consisting of animals, florals, patterns and motifs as well as cosmic vibes portraying soft female figures, she is inspired by the natural. Her more recent works are based around hand built ceramic ware, each piece she builds is lovingly hand painted and adorned in her signature paint style. Alex loves to create eye catching pieces that are both practical and beautiful.
She uses a myriad of tools such as gouache paint, ink, watercolour, acrylic, block printing and clay but also indulges in digital work and more recently computer animation. Hard-working and passionate, Alex delivers a high quality standard to her clients across the globe. Always up for a challenge, Alex has worked on many exciting and different client projects such as handwritten typographies, graphic scribe posters, corporate gifts, hand-painted coffee tins, e-book covers as well as murals. She also pours herself into her online shop where she sells originals, prints, block printed totes, clay brooches and stickers.
Alex would love to work with you and your company in licensing her work onto your products!
