Sun Tumbler

The sun tumbler gives off good vibes with its smiley face and rays of light. Hand built using the slab building technique I create the cup, fire it, then paint the sun, glaze it and fire it again to give it a shiny appearance. Once that is done I then go in with gold lustre and add some gorgeous gold cheeks.

Slab building is a technique ceramicists use to build a form, it is one of my favourite ways to build pieces! The finished product comes out uniquely one of a kind and has a charming handmade/wonky feel to it.

Made using Keane’s midfire number 33, a lovely smooth clay that shows a lovely speckle throughout. Cups are dishwasher safe and glaze is food grade standard.
